Hi all, I didn't really understood how the command "putblock" works exactly and where it may be used. The manual clearly says that the variables "column" and "line" should be used always before "showscore" and "message", but the only way I was able to use putblock it was to use these two variables as show in the example:
let column 15 let line 18 putblock 2
if there's someone that may help me I would be really grateful thanks in advance, WiZkiD From the manual
PUTBLOCK Command. Requires a parameter to specify the block number. This places the specified block at the current LINE and COLUMN position on the screen, and can be useful for opening and closing doors. Note that exiting and re-entering the screen or redrawing after MENU or INV will restore the screen to its default position, unless you have selected the puzzle specialisation.
LINE, COLUMN Variables. These determine the position at which the score or message will be displayed. They are temporary and change every time a sprite is displayed, so always use them immediately before a MESSAGE or SHOWSCORE command.

Hey I was working on this too and this is what I found out
if key... Divide x by 8 divide y by 8 add 2 to y let line x let column y putblock (whatever block you want) subtract 2 from y multiply x by 8 multiply y by 8 endif
will put a block of your choice to the right of the player sprite (very convenient)
strangely though if i do the same trying to have the block to the left all sort of werid things happen... (but maybe it is because the rest of my code is too messy...)

did anyone ever get this to work or is the command broken ? i've got the syntax and suchlike down fine but when i use the command instead of calling up the required UDG characters it just brings up a random mess and when i fall through it/past it it changes to garbled rubbish :-(
any ideas ?

This works in terms of gameplay but the putblock produces a garbled mess where there should be a pre-defined block.
