hi there
Just an idea, but could it be made possible to import and export a script out onto the tape? I am writing using an emulator and if this were possible it would allow people write scripts on their PC and then import them, export scripts from an earlier version into a newer one, and post scripts on forums which could be copied and imported into AGD to play with. It could work like the scratchpad, I don't think it would take up a lot of memory.
thanks!

Some emulators let you send text to the machine, like a text file or pasted from the clipboard... I guess that could do some of what you're asking, it might even allow sprite and block drawing with some clever PC coding.
It will be better when the PC based editor is finished, I'm sure it will be, Jonathan won't let us down!

Sorry, not sure - I thought that it was a feature of ZXSpin but I was mistaken - someone at the WOS forum would be able to advise you. I only mentioned that because I used it with a CPC emulator for AGD and it is damn handy. If I find a Speccy emulator with the same feature I will let you know.

I know there's at least one CPC emulator that allows this - and it is very useful - but I haven't yet found a Spectrum emulator with this feature.

I tried using a keyboard macro, i.e an external program that allows you to copy from, say, notepad, and then output it as keystrokes, but it didn't work. I think it was probably too quick for the spectrum. I guess in theory you could speed up the emulator and then try it, but it does start to get complicated.
