I am trying to get the hang of using Vortex Tracker to make some music to eventually use in an AGD game I plan to try once I understand more about AGD itself.
However, I have not found many decent intro's to using Vortex Tracker - I have read and tried the tutorial here ( chipmusic.org/forums/post/254495/#p254495 ) but I can't get past the first part where it says to create a basic instrument and hear a beep - all I get is a click!
Can anyone point me in the direction of a reliable Vortex Tracker tutorial? Or if not Vortex Tracker, is there any other decent AY tune composer that would let me create music to use with an AGD game?
Vortex Tracker is a wise choice if you ask me Besides the accompanying documentation first (which is very good anyway), a good way to learn how it works is to look into the enclosed music files and see how the various samples, effects etc. are made, modify them, and even 'ripping' samples from them to use in your own tunes.
Thanks for the new link. I have downloaded it and it has the EXE in it - you mention some accompanying documentation and enclosed music files but I can't seem to see them. Are you referring to the ones in the download at the web address I initially mentioned?
Also, I have just tried the steps in the tutorial that is in that link I initally put and still just getting that clicking sound.
