Hope you take it easy, because I'm just asking a few things while solving this or that problem or question in the AGD, thus it presumably might help other users too nd even more improve the AGD.
Ok, he we go--why there're no predefined graphic effects? I mean flying stars, debris, explosion, shade, smoke, flares, disintegrate, circles and so on.
For example, I was watching Chronos RZX and I liked how they made debris -- very simple yet something. In the AGD it requires at least four (for better looking- six or eight) different sprites, which is a big no-no. And I remember my awe seeing how REX was 'integrating' or TRANTOR disintegrated.
So, it would require a predefine set of effects TYPE, SIZE, SPEED and DIRection (X+). For example I would like to fill my empty background with a little gleaming starts slowly falling from upper-right corner to lower-left. Something like effect 0 0 1 6or effect STAR TINY 1 SE
It would also be possible to simulate smoke or stream--yay! bullet traces and moving water!
I see that hardly I really understand what it may require both from you (as the author) and our hardworking Speccy. Actually it's a new pseudo-particle system with its own engine. However, it would be really nice, I think.
As a proficient programmer you may think something even better.
