Dunno about you, but I often find I need a means to find the nearest sprite or object. Why, even a DISTANCE N implemented via simple D= ABS(x1-x2) + ABS(y1-y2) could do nicely, though a bit cumbersome for checking many sprites. Sure, one could sort the coords first and subtract from bigger numbers to avoid the ABS, yet it would be an overkill overhead in the AGD, alas
