Hi everyone.
I've been trying out making a basic platformer on Amstrad CPC. All works quite nicely in the main. Lot's to learn still.
The current issue is that when I pick up a collectible sprite. The score displays but is corrupt, or displaying in hex.
I've tried editing the script and changing
SCORE 1 to SCORE $000A
Just in case hex was needed, but either way the score does not display properly.
I also couldn't see a way to add collectible blocks to add score or indeed anything.
EVENT COLLECTBLOCK
Not sure if I just add some code under that?
I'm hoping this is a simple case of you need to edit the generated code a little
Edit - I think I may have found the issue. The fonts in the editor all look 8x8 Spectrum size. There seems to be no Amstrad default one? I watched the video on Amstrad use but the font in that vid does not seem to be included now.
I really don't fancy trying to edit one manually
Edit - Okay. It seems the font editor is bugged and even when trying to edit the font you cannot delete any pixels at all. I also found on trying a new project the default Amstrad fonts show up. So it looks like I clicked on some of the other options and lost the ability to revert back to the Amstrad compatible one I can live with it for now but an update to fix this would be very welcome!
I also noticed that even if you add a menu screen, when you lose all your lives it resets the game completely. Some teething problems with Amstrad builds I think.
I keep adding my findings as I go along, as I hate it if I am searching for an issue, someone mentions it, but rarely gets back with how they fixed it.
