Corey Coolbrew has been trapped in a robot laboratory.
Help him escape by completing all of the levels. Collect the microchips to gain extra lives, pick up the key to open the door to exit to the next level.

Hi Waulok, congratulations for your debut Just a couple of notes: - Spaces occupied by micro chips stay yellow after they have been collected. - It would be better to reduce the collision distance between sprites. Have a look at this example:

Kees says there's not really any way with MPAGD to remove colour attributes in that. You'll also see flickering sprites which cannot be fixed. Thanks for the suggestions!

You can solve both issues with this neat hack - www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Up3MtiGHEwOnce installed, your characters and sprites will 'paint' the background with their ink colour as they move around. You can use a blocktype to disable this for individual blocks Edit - I just noticed you are not using AGDX, but I guess this might be useful for other folks :-)

I've only had a short go but it like it so far. The character animation and controls are quite smooth and the difficulty seems about right, I like the music too. I agree with Alessandro that the collision distance might need lowering a tiny bit, there were a couple of times where I died and I seemed to not be touching the baddies. Other than that - great work!

It will be in the next release as standard but if anyone wishes to use it before then the new engine is attached. EngineZX.asm (154.82 KB)

Thanks! I'll try it out since I have to re-release my game. Turns out MPAGD somehow lost all of the code for SPRITETYPE5 and all RESTART code for levels 24 onwards. Also, Did you know if you have a game named eg. mygame1 and it creates mygame1.msg if you re-save it as mygame2 it does not create mygame2.msg but does copy all of the other files. So you have to manually copy mygame1.msg as mygame2.msg

Looks like a good start. It does not colour the blocks attributes when sprites pass over using SPRITEINK however they DO colour Objects still.

Currently rewriting all my end-game code and other code missing from SPRITETYPE5 and SPRITETYPE6. It's just gone. I don't know how it disappeared but I spent hours last time coding it. I have multiple backups of my MPAGD project on my computer and none of them have any work I did at the end.

Corey Coolbrew has been updated.
A player has notified me by email that there were exit keys missing from level 24. It turns out they were missing from all levels 24 and above. Also my Game Completed code and quite a bit of other code was also missing.
I have re-coded all of the missing code including keys and Game Completed code.
If you re-download Corey Coolbrew you should now be able to complete all levels.
As a bonus, with new engine code recently released there's also much less problems with colour attribute clashes.

Hi, WauloK. Cool game. A Zx Spec classic, man. At first I got involved with the jump on the M key, but you get used to it fast and enjoy it. Thank you!
