Hey there I am working on a new game "Cattivik" and I wonder if anybody would like to help me (in the hopefully near future) putting together the game with music, title screen and menu: I drew the loading screen, wrote the ingame tune (which probably needs some change) and made the first level but i do not know how to put things togetehr... The game is far from being ready (just made the first level and i plan at least two more, each with a final boss) but I thought i would share this bit anyway www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnLnjkpNgtM&feature=youtu.be

I forgot: I left 10k for the music in the first level (only 5 screens) ..is that enough for in-game music?

Hey there! Here is the second level of my game...it costed me a lot in terms of working out things so I might as well show it off a bit www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsNIt...ature=youtu.beIn the second level Cattivik has to get some money to buy his hammer (that is his typical weapon in the comics) and then get some more money to buy the expensive dress which he will need to committ his final big crime...! (don't ask me why he buy things that he could steal...) the level is short (only 7 screen) but believe me it is tough! and hopefully funny too: Cattivik will have to get the money from some little sleeping orphans (they live in the orphanatrophy next door) and from some old little ladies at the retirement home...watch out for the guardian nuns and the crazy old guy with the big gun! PS oh yes ...i also put a side graphic panel...hopefully this will be in the first level too...when we put everything together

Hi the game looks pretty hard but really fun to play. The graphics are great. I especially like the brick windows. Great touch!
By the way, the video you posted isn't working.

Really cool. I could never hope to do that in AGD (my fault). Jonathan really outdid himself with this tool. When you say you need help putting it together, what do you mean? Making a basic loader, load the loading screen and then loading and starting the game? Or what?

Making a basic loader, load the loading screen and then loading and starting the game? Or what? well I am making the different levels as different AGD (3.0) scripts because each takes almost all teh memory available (also I want to leave some room for music ) for the Utube video i put things togetehr with movie maker In the end I will need someone to help put together the different levels with the loading screen (I made these already) with a menu (which I don't know how to make) and maybe with he music (which I made with beepola but i will need to make as AY) i don't know programming so in the previous games (DKR and PitfallIII) Dave Hughes kindly offered to help (he actually offered to help with this one too...the only problem might be adding an in-game music) So let's see what happens...any help with any of these issues is welcome ...but first i have to do the last level

Making a basic loader, load the loading screen and then loading and starting the game? Or what? well I am making the different levels as different AGD (3.0) scripts because each takes almost all teh memory available (also I want to leave some room for music ) for the Utube video i put things togetehr with movie maker In the end I will need someone to help put together the different levels with the loading screen (I made these already) with a menu (which I don't know how to make) Video number 10 should help with the basic loader: www.randomkak.blogspot.co.uk/p/agd-video-tutorials.htmlWhen AGD asks if you want it make you a BASIC loader say "No" But if you don't know BASIC at all you might not understand what's going on in RandomKak's video. Still, since you can obviously script in AGD you shouldn't have too much of a problem. Plus, you can also approach someone and ask them when the time comes to do that. Also, after you load your loading screen within your BASIC loader: Example... 10 LOAD "" SCREEN$ follow that with POKE 23739,111 so that when you load the game code it doesn't overwrite your picture (ie. CODE: CATTIVIK being displayed over your screen) So, it would look something like this: 10 LOAD "" SCREEN$: POKE 23739,111 Jonathan 's IntroMaker should also help with making intro menus, although, I've never tried it. You can find it at WOS: www.worldofspectrum.org/infoseekid.cgi?id=0023803I also anticipated possibly having to do the same thing with some games. If levels are too large you could save them separately. One of the things I might try is giving some sort of password at the end of a level, then return to BASIC and load the next level. The next level would ask for the password given at the end of the previous level. A few years ago I might have been able to help you with this but I've been so out of this scene for a while I can't remember a whole lot. I'll have to figure a lot of this out (or ask) myself when/if the time comes. I think I've heard of tools for converting a WAV or MP3 file to AY. If I'm not mistaken I saw a topic at WOS where someone listed some of these utilities but I'm not sure which one it is now. Based on what little knowledge I have I would go with AY. It can play in the background without interrupting game play as far as I know. Beeper sounds need to go back and forth between running the game and playing music (I think). If you want I guess you could have a 48k version with no music (or AY sound effects) and a 128k version with music. But maybe your game will run fine with beeper music. I don't know.

this is all well and fine...if just I could figure out what it means!! to tell you the truth I tried to follow Paul's videos (that is how I learned how to use AGD) but the part about the basic loader ...I just couldn't understand it As for intro maker ...I tried that too again with no understanding of what to do... I am being stupid about this but I just cannot figure it out... I mean I don't know how they put the programs in the virtual tape loader ...Jon actually replied to a previous post of mine in which i was asking clarifications about intromaker...but i do not know what the things he wrote mean... ... guess i will have to go study a bit
