Just a belated announcement that my first two games were released;
noon30 Shovel Duck (Featuring Dollar Bill) Released beginning of November 2023
ktbproductions.itch.io/noon30-shovel-duck which is a "pay what you want" (so technically free) platform game where you need to find your friend and collect the green money items. This was definitely a learning exercise; mostly of the limits of 48K vs my ideas and imagination. I think it turned out reasonably well and it passes the "I made a game I like to play" test (because if you don't want to play the game you made, that's a sign that you need to go back and change something).
Money Mouse in Full Barn House Released 31st January 2024
ktbproductions.itch.io/mmfbh this is a paid game ($2.50) which I feel could have been released as a budget title back in the day.
(It is actually inspired by the game "Byte Bitten" which was released in 1984 by Firebird for £2.50 ... although, other than the hunting objects, there isn't a huge similarity). It is a maze / labyrinth / object finding game (find an object, bring it back, play bonus game).
There are fully-working alpha versions of the game available to download as a demo (but with their own map, and unfixed bugs) to give a taste of the game and can be downloaded freely.
The full game consists of two episodes - each with different maps - and different "arcade inspired" bonus games.
I'm currently working on a much improved sequel to Shovel Duck, which I expect will be available later in the year.
(Almost forgot a thank you to everyone who posts great and useful tips and advice; MPAGD is great but there are things it's easy to miss, or you feel "should be in the documentation" that aren't and the forums have been great for finding some of those things that every AGD/MPAGD developer should just know)
