Hello, I am Paul from the uk, a mature gamer (as they say) who recently found an agd video on youtube.
I am not a coding expert but I've dabbled with basic on the BBC and Atari 800. So agd should be in my skill zone.
I do have a question and that is, after some research I've found there is agd, agdx, agd mini and mpagd. Which of these is the best one to start on for a total newcomer to agd? and are there any guides or tutorials on making games apart from platform games? (which are all I've found)
Nice to meet you all

My recommendation is that you start with MPAGD (that's what I did, I didn't consider using AGD or AGDX or anything similar), since it allows you to develop directly and compile from Windows, watch the videos and read the documentation and follow the examples you see in the different videos that will help you a lot. jonathan-cauldwell.itch.io/multi-platform-arcade-game-designer www.minilopretro.com/post/horizontal-moving-platforms-in-mpagdI hope you find the links I add useful.

I've been using mpagd and following a tutorial, however I seem to have a problem I'm trying to export the game I'm working on. I select export and then give it a name and when it asks 'Create .Tap file?' I click on yes but still it only saves a .agd file which I can't run in my emulator.
is there a way to get it to save a .tap or .tzx file?
Thanks

Press F5 to Build and create the .tap file.
