I don't know if anyone has tried this, but spawning sprites in the main loop events can lead to unpredictable behaviour in both the CPC and ZX versions, including crashes. This is because there is no source sprite to take as a template.
There'll be a fix for this in the next update for each machine. Until then, if you wish to spawn sprites in a main loop event you should start it with the command ORIGINAL.

Yes I have noticed that on the CPC, I tried to set up a sprite that spawns after a room has been visited (it sets up a variable). I tried it both ways, to spawn it if variable is 1 or to delete it if variable is 0, neither way worked properly. This is one of the issues holding back my next release, I'm just waiting for the next version before I do anything else.
