Sometimes a background graphic layout can appear when game starts, in order to save useful block graphics.
Those backgrounds (screen$) can be evoked from the main basic loader (i noticed that nobody answered to how exactly do that in a previous thread in Tips section)...
For that purpose, it could be very useful to compress screen$ (originals are 6912 bytes long)... So what is the best (possibly user-friendly) program to do that ?

Einar Saukas's ZX7+RCS is an excellent compressor for both program and screen data. Can be a bit tricky at first because you have to compile the decompressing code first because you must run it from a certain address and instruct it to match the start and length of the compressed code (even the Z80 Assembler in ZX Spin will do the job nicely), but once you manage to understand how it works, it becomes a matter of routine. I have been using it from my very first game and couldn't even imagine how I could do without it
