What are the properties of a water block? I've been experimenting but it's doing two weird things - My character rises to the top and then sticks there, I can move left and right but not jump out of the water. If I jump while in the water my character sinks to the bottom. Thanks.

To my knowledge, water blocks are broken. They are supposed to be enabled only within the adventure specialization but in fact they don't seem to work at all. They aren't even mentioned in the block design section of the user manual.

If I jump while in the water my character sinks to the bottom. Thanks. Sprites that are subject to gravity will float in water blocks so this is the correct behaviour. You can jump in but the sprite will slowly rise to the top and bob around at the surface of the water. Your sprite will be able to swim left and right but in order to get out you'll need to put in some wall block steps at any edge where you want the player to be able to jump out. It stands to reason that is not possible to jump when swimming, only when a sprite is standing half submerged in a single block's depth of water. Hope that helps
