I'm looking for people to play-test my new game for the 48k Spectrum - Springbot - Mars Attack! If you could report any bugs or just give me general feedback that would be great. My main worry is that the game is too easy or that I've overlooked something game-breaking. The game is set on a mining facility on the planet Mars which has been invaded by hostile aliens. The aim of the game is to collect fuel cells to power up the reactor, cause an explosion to destroy all the invaders, and then escape back to the ship. Collect keys to open doors Pick up gems for bonus points Website address / Credits - www.andy-farrell.co.uk/springbot/ (under construction) You can download the .tap file here - *EDIT* - Fixed the bug below where Springbot gets caught in the scenery www.andy-farrell.co.uk/springbot/SBOT1.2.zip*EDIT 2" - The general feedback is that it's too difficult / not enough lives. I have added 3 collectible extra life pickups www.andy-farrell.co.uk/springbot/SBOT1.3.zipThanks, Andy

Bug : position restart after kill of the player or simply when start the screen :
This screen is too hard : the box detection of the killer block is difficult to anticipate. Too much killer blocks for me but I'm not a good game.
I would like more lives on the start to go futher in the game because the difficulty level is high but on the other side, it's very addictive (perhaps because frustation). I think that graphics participate of the success (big applause for that). The player is very easy to manipulate very soon and understand his possibilities.

Thanks sfranck72, you're not supposed to be able to enter the screen that way, I will fix this! As for lives, I may add a feature that grants an extra life after collecting a set amount of gems.

Really like it, Andy. Its colourful and (my impression) addictive. And its well finished. Actually playing the .3 version. I reafirm myself: great graphics.

Hi! It is not excessively difficult, Andy, but I wish I could have a couple more lives. Although I have to say that I cannot go beyond 2000 points. I like the colour, and the smoothness of the movements. The main character is very nice and endearing. It is a very good game and I will continue playing it one more season, because I want to know what surprises await me in this network of screens. What was said; Congratulations.

While doing some testing I imported Springbot into MPAGD and switched to a different machine. Just for interest, here's what the graphics would look like on the Dragon 32/64 and Acorn Atom in 4 colour mode:
